My sweet, sweet Mallory,
Welcome to your online baby book! :) I am so sorry I could not create this for you sooner, but I will make up for it by posting photos since your birth to now and moving forward. Don't worry, Cain has been equally neglected. I have not posted to Cain's blog in a year! So... lets catch up on what you have been up to! :)
You were born on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Methodist Sugar Land Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas. You were born at ________PM (uh oh, brain fart, I'll fill this in later!) and were 8 lbs 2 oz (another brain fart, I better check on this, too!) I was already 40 weeks pregnant with you and you did not want to come out of your happy little habitat in my tummy so we had to induce your birth. Your due date was Dec 27 and Dr. Heaps said I could wait to induce you no later than Jan 3 (which would have made you 41 weeks ripe) BUT... he was going on vacation for the New Year and I wanted him to be the one to deliver you so I induced the last possible minute Dr. Heaps was available hoping I would go into labor naturally and not interfere with your "natural" birthday. Looking back, it was the safest thing to do. If I had waited until Jan 3, there may have been complications, who knows?
When you were born you already had a lot of hair. Well, not a lot, but you had some! :) Your hair was shiny black and your eyes were bright blue! You were so cute! When I heard your first cry, my heart melted and I couldn't wait to hold you and nurse you and tell you how much I already loved you.
The reason you were born in Texas is because Grandma Gloria was living there at the time and I went to stay with her while Daddy was on deployment. The cool thing about your birth is that Daddy got to be there to see you born!! He was originally not going to get to meet you until you were going to be 4 months old (the end of his deployment) but because the ship needed repairs, it headed back to the US for a month and he got to come to Texas to meet you!
The day you were born, your brother Cain and Grandma came to the hospital to meet you. Grandma fell in love with you. She said she loved you for a long time, ever since you were in my belly.
When you were 2 months old, your Grandma Marian and Uncle Mario flew from Mexico to meet you and Cain. They fell in love with you both. Obviously! :) When you were 6 months old, Daddy returned from deployment and we moved back home to Virginia.
So, lets fast forward a bit... before I forget to document a couple of milestones!
You just got your bottom teeth this month! So that means you got your first two bottom teeth (they came out together, YOUR bottom right actually popped out first) when you were 8 months old! At this point, 8 months, you are able to sit up unassisted, reach for things and put them in your mouth, eat yogurt, and drink liquids from a straw! You want to eat solids so badly! You try to grab everything we are eating. I wish Cain had your interest in food. He wastes everything right now :) You babble and talk and scream really loud. So cute! You love watching Sesame Street. You smile every time I put it on for you. You sit in the high chair and make a mess out of feeding yourself yogurt. You creep around on the carpet but you're not crawling yet. You really don't like being on your back on belly. I have to distract you to keep you from crying on the floor. You love tandem nursing with your brother. You pull eachother's hair and hold hands. It's really cute :) Cain is pretty jealous of you right now. Every time I nurse you, he wants to nurse. He doesn't like you touching his toys. Sometimes he is really sweet to you though. He will sometimes try to feed you or he will give you a hug and kiss and stroke your head. Toddlers are moody, so sometimes Cain wants to love you and sometimes he wants to be the only child. Your brother is going to grow up to love and protect you, so don't worry. By the time you read this you two will be the best of friends :) That is my hope for you both. That you grow up close and take care of each other. I love you guys so much!!!
Well, I must go to bed so I will post pictures later. I love you baby girl! I am so happy you came into my life. You have such a precious little spirit. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life getting to know you and loving you. Welcome to the family Mallory! :)
